Trainer, Researcher, Practitioner
Specialising in performance and communication skills training, interdisciplinary theatre research and crafting innovative strategies that bridge the gap between theatre practice and professional development.
My customised professional development programme focuses on communication, empathy, and resilience, preparing both individuals and businesses to thrive in today's workplace. The theatre-based approach, which is tailored to each client's specific needs, includes immersive workshops, role-playing exercises, and real-world scenarios that allow participants to practise and refine their newly acquired skills in a safe and supportive environment.
My area of expertise is in interdisciplinary theatre studies, specifically contemporary performance training across a variety of media, immersive storytelling and technologies, the creative industries and ecosystems. My research also investigates the ways in which theatre can contribute to effective learning methodologies and the potential of theatre to combat the stigma associated with mental health issues.
I have a PhD in Performance Practice from the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom, with a focus on intercultural actor training. With my extensive experience as a versatile actor and director, spanning a range of styles from realism to physical theatre and contemporary dance, I bring a wealth of knowledge to the teaching and training of actors for theatre, film, and television. I have experience coaching all types of presenters and performers to enhance their confidence and stage presence.
As I am revising the learning designs of all of my courses for the first semester of the new academic year post-COVID-19, I am experimenting with various combinations of the types of instruction shown above.
